The history of copiers began in 1779, when James Watt invented the first copy machine, which was used in offices, to transfer ink from an original document to other sheets of paper, by means of a press. The inventor of photocopying was actually Chester Carlson, who made the first copiers in 1938. Since then, the progresses in technology made it possible for scientists to bring some significant improvements to nowadays copiers, so they have become indispensable tools for every single company. This is why copiers represent a great business opportunity, that every one could approach in order to make some extra money.

In order to start your own copiers business, the first thing that you need is a space. It does not even have to be big, as there are many copiers companies that are ‘headquartered’ in a garage. Once you have solved the space issue, you can move on to actually purchasing copiers. Prior to buying, you must do some research, as there is an extremely wide range of copiers on the market. Most copiers use a technology called xerography, which is why they are also known as ‘xerox machines’. Then, you could either opt for black and white copiers, for color ones, or even for both. You could not go wrong if you choose to invest in purchasing both color and black-and-white copiers. The investment costs will be higher, but the profit will increase significantly.

Then, there is the possibility of purchasing used copiers. The Internet is the best place to find them, and once you have set your business straight, you could move on to more modern, new copiers. Most copiers come with a warranty, and the maintenance costs are not high either. No matter what you choose though, it is obvious that copiers represent a great business opportunity, especially since in most fields the services provided by copiers are required, and even necessary. Education, business and government are only a few, so you cannot go wrong if you decide to start your own copiers business.
